Why do we travel?

We travel to foreign destinations for more than just new scenery; it’s the allure of stepping into the unknown, where every moment brims with discovery. The unfamiliar sounds, sights, and flavors awaken a part of us that craves novelty and adventure. It’s in the winding streets of a city we’ve never seen, where we get lost not just in the place but in who we are outside our usual surroundings. Each encounter with a different culture teaches us something new—whether it’s tasting spices we’ve never heard of or exchanging a smile with someone who speaks a language we don’t understand.
For some, travel is a search for perspective—a reminder of how vast the world is and how small our worries seem in comparison. Others seek connection, finding comfort in the shared human experience that transcends borders. The thrill of navigating a foreign place on your own terms builds confidence; every train you catch, every meal you order in a halting accent becomes a victory, a story to tell.
When we return home, we bring back more than souvenirs. We carry with us pieces of the places we’ve been—the smells, the sounds, the moments when we felt truly alive. Traveling broadens our world not just by adding new locations to our memory, but by changing how we see our own lives. We travel because in the unfamiliar, we find parts of ourselves we didn’t know existed, and we come home richer for it.
Memories are made to last forever...
